Every time a new cd comes out that I'm remotely interested in, one of three things tend to happen. 1. I hate it, and everything it stands for. I liked the previous one better and cannot listen to it anymore. I also tend to bash on it repeatedly until I am no longer bitter about it. 2. The new album is good, and I can accept the minor changes. They are progressively becoming a better band and I have respect for it. 3. The album is amazing, best thing I've ever heard. I don't put it down for weeks. I play it until my Ipod begs me to turn it off, and even at that point I most likely refuse. Recently however I've been rethinking my way of listening to an album and classifying it accordingly.
You may be wondering what album dare defy my over analyzed number system? None other than the new, self titled album from Attack Attack. It's the follow up to Someday Came Suddenly. The sound they produce is unique, although many bands are trying to get up on it. It's kinda metalish/hardcore/electronica with poopy screaming. In all honesty, I don't know why I like them as much as I do. I have so many gripes about this album, but I can't bring myself to put it down. The Billboard charts clock them in at number 27 on the top 200, ( not bad for a band on an indie label), number 6 on the rock charts, and number 1 in the independent charts. Needless to say.... check them out.
